Heart Healthy Sweets & Treats

It's the month to treat your heart with some extra love and care. A little organic dark chocolate with raspberries could be just the right treat and still give you some high quality anti-oxidants and calm and cool a Pitta constitution!

Red wine in moderation has protective phyto-chemicals, or a glass of champagne with raspberries or strawberries can be a sparkling treat.

If you can't do alcohol, try Organic Non-alcoholic Cranberry or Strawberry Apple Cider Champagne. It looks lovely in a champagne glass and tastes wonderful. It's sweet and cooling for you heart and mind!

Fresh Roses, rose essential oils, or crushed rose petals in a potpourri are calming, cooling, soothing for your heart too! Enjoy your day and evening!

Yoga Posture:

Standing Chest Opener can help stretch out tired shoulders and back and open your chest and your heart from too much computer work.

It's a good idea to get up from your computer periodically to stretch out your chest, shoulder, and back muscles.

Stand comfortably with your weight equally distributed on both feet, knees slightly bent, and your pelvis tucked forward.

Let your shoulders roll up and back and down. Reach both arms behind you, clasp your fingers of both hands behind your back and gently stretch by lifting your hands up behind you as far as is comfortable while you arch your chest forward and breathe in.

Then bring your hands back down, relax your chest, unclasp your hands, and bring your arms back to your sides and breathe out. You can shake your arms and roll your shoulders up and down to work out any tightness. Repeat several times.

See pg 128 in Stop Your Cravings for a visual and more yoga postures.

Essential Fatty Acids: Not Romantic, but necessary!

Your cholesterol and blood lipids should be in a balanced, healthy range, not too high and not too low. Essential Fatty Acids may not be romantic, but they are necessary to encourage the emulsification of sticky plague so that it can be "unstuck" from the arterial walls.

The word "essential" means that your body does not make these good fats, so they must be ingested thru your diet.

Examples of "Essential Fatty Acids" are: EPA/DHA Omega 3 Fish oils, Flax Seed oil, Hemp Seed oil, Borgae oil, Evening Primrose oil, etc. Some people do better on certain oils than others depending on their digestive ability, constitution, cultural background, preferences for vegetarian sources or not.

Adding adequate fiber and liver support, is necessary for the removal of plague and excess cholesterol. Pg 55 in Stop Your Cravings's. View Online Store.

Please don't hesitate to call (303) 447-9484 if you need any help putting a program together that is specific to your needs.
